I hate AI writing
I really really hate AI writing. It's immediately obvious when someone's used AI to produce writing, even if they edit it themselves afterwards.
Writing is a uniquely human act. It connects people across time and space in a way that few other media can – it plugs us directly into the brain of the writer! I want to know what you are thinking, not what some machine decided to output as a summary of your thoughts.
It's also disconcerting because it's possible to develop a unique writing voice. Each person can write in a way that's theirs, and that is influenced by other writers whom they've read and internalized. AI writing drives towards a gray mean. Reading AI writing is like looking at a mass produced painting in a hotel lobby. I don't want to stay at a hotel! I want to be invited into your home, to see the world the way you see it, and to carry that insight forward into my own life and writing.
Anyway.
